The NPD Group reports that mylo is hitting its sales targets. Sales numbers published in april place mylo on the 7-th place in the top ten bestselling portable devices. The closest concurrent product, Nokia N800 comes on the 9-th place. Since 5-th of February Sony's finally distributing mylo in Japan. The first date announced was mid-December 2006. For the moment only the black model is available. White one is announced for March. mylo is awarded Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering "Best of Innovations" at International CES. Innovations Design and Engineering Awards honor outstanding consumer electronics design and engineering. More info.... A new firmware for mylo is available on Sony eSupport site. This utility updates the system to version 1.100 to improve and enhance mylo Personal Communicator features. Improvements include security vulnerability countermeasures, system stability enhancements and internet applications interoperability. After exclusively US distribution, Sony decided to start selling mylo in other countries starting with Japan. Due date: mid-December 2006. There's not yet information about Sony's plans for other countries. T-Mobile USA decided to offer 12 months of free access to all of its 7000 T-Mobile hotspots. The T-Mobile HotSpot service will be available for mylo owners starting mid-November 2006 and will end on December 31, 2007. This is a very good news for mylo owners because T-Mobile operates its hotspots in many public places such as coffeehouses, stores, hotels and airports. mylo, the black version, is the third most popular item on Amazon.com.
